The first of many

This is my first post to my brand new blog: Junto. For those of you unfamiliar with the term, Junto was the group founded by Benjamin Franklin for the purpose of mutual improvement. It was meant for people of all backgrounds with an interest in discussing questions of the day. They used a structured forum for discussion to better themselves and society.

I believe one modern incarnation of this desire can be found in prediction markets. In these markets, a wide group of people come together electronically to seek answers to an unknown future. Each knows a piece of the puzzle, and together the group can develop an incredibly detailed picture of the whole. Prediction markets can be a valuable tool in many areas of modern day life; it's useful whenever the future is unknown!

This is my first post and is meant to be a bit of a test. I'll be posting more in the next few days about prediction markets, my background, and goals. Cheers.
